RISE: Renewable, Innovative and Scalable Electrification (2018 – 2020)

Summary:

A collaboration between the University of Oxford and the University of Cape Town, this project provides academic insights into how to sustainably scale off-grid electrification in Uganda and Zambia, developing recommendations for local and international energy businesses, policies, regulations and community engagement. CDA has helped to coordinate in-depth interviews with over 30 stakeholders, most of them local energy businesses, as well as execute a household survey in Northern, Eastern, Western and Central Uganda.

The project’s findings and recommendations are shared in a Practitioner Guide that CDA has produced in collaboration with the University of Oxford and the University of Cape Town.
