Uganda Entrepreneurial Ecosystems Initiative (Phase I) (2018)

CDA led a consortium to deliver the 8-month diagnosis and design phase of UEEI. The team mapped and assessed the current policies, programmes and organisations supporting high-growth SMEs, carried out a comprehensive diagnosis of the binding constraints to firm growth, and designed a detailed multi-stakeholder strategy to lift these constraints. This involved a literature review, a survey of 168 high-growth SMEs, 80 key stakeholder interviews and focus groups, and two validation and design workshops bringing together close to 200 of the leading ecosystem stakeholders involved in supporting Small & Growing Businesses.
